Michael Jay Phillips, M.D.

Vascular Surgeon Milwaukee | Dr. Michael Jay Phillips, M.D.| Oconomowoc Dr. Michael Phillips is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon treating patients at his private practice in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin since 1995. Dr. Phillips also holds teaching appointments as a Clinical Associate Professor and Physicians Assistant Preceptor at Marquette University.

Dr. Phillips served 2 terms as the Chief of Surgery at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. Dr. Phillips has trained fellow surgeons in complex advanced laparoscopic procedures for the past 15 years. He brings his broad exposure of these techniques and surgical skills, to other surgeons throughout the mid-western United States. Dr. Phillips is highly respected among his peers and patients.

Dr. Phillips received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and completed his surgical internship and residency training at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year, completing his residency in 1991 He also served as a Major in the United States Army Reserves for over 20 years.

Dr. Phillips’ work has been appeared in numerous publications and presentations, and he has also invented and manufactured several medical devices. As co-founder of Vector Surgical, LLC., a medical device company, that develops innovative devices providing greater accuracy and speed of surgical procedures.

In his spare time, Dr. Phillips enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, he also donates his time as a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight, Inc., serving patients in need of free air transportation for medically related needs.

Holly Halwas-Bang

Patient Care Consultant

Holly is a medical consultant with greater than 20 years of experience in the health care industry. Holly’s goal with each patient is to effectively develop a customized skin care regiment. By providing a welcoming and comfortable consultation environment. Holly develops a personal connection with each patient. She provides exceptional pre & post procedure instructions so the patient obtains optimum outcomes. Additionally, Holly is certified and trained in the use of the Cutera and Candela lasers. Glymed ultrasound, multiple skin care lines & chemical exfoliation. Customer satisfaction is her number one priority.

Courtney Hanson

- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)

Courtney Hanson is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP). Originally from the Northeast, she holds a bachelors degree in Clinical Exercise Science from Ithaca College, NY. She completed her registered nurse and Master of Science degrees in Nursing at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. She has worked locally with surgical patients as an RN for the last four years and continues in this specialty as an ACNP.

When Courtney is not in the office or the operating room, she enjoys time at home with her husband and their two dogs. She loves spending time with family, friends and exploring WI.

Mary Steffan

-Esthetician

Mary is a respected professional esthetician with over seventeen years in the esthetic field. She carries a Wisconsin Cosmetologist Managers license, and is certified in chemical exfoliation from The Alexander Thomas School of Esthetics of Brookfield, WI.

She received her license in advanced skin care techniques from The Conservatory of Esthetics & Bioelements of Des Plaines, Ill. She is also certified and trained in the use of all Syneron, Cutera, and Candela medical lasers. Her training includes continuing education and hands-on experience in the areas of skin ultrasound and dermaplaning techniques.

She has years of experience in acne management, skin rejuvenation, facial skin care, and anti-aging treatments to promote healthier and younger looking skin. Her skin care treatments along with custom designed medical grade home skin care regimens can improve your skin's texture, reduce pore size, smooth fine lines, clear and control acne as well as lighten pigment and reduce sun damage.

Rebecca Belkola

– Certified Surgical Assistant

Becky has worked in health care since 1993 and for Dr Phillips since 1994. She is the office manager for Comprehensive Surgical Specialists. She assists in EVLT’s and other vascular surgical procedures. In addition to her clinical functions she supports a variety of administrative clinical tasks.

Shannon Stehli

– Medical Assistant

Shannon has worked in health care since 2000, she assists in EVLT’s and other surgical procedures, performs a variety of administrative clinical tasks, updates medical records, records patient vital signs, explains medical procedures to patients and completes insurance authorizations and required supporting documentation.

Sarah Kohn

– Medical Diagnostic Sonographer, RDMS, RVT

Sarah entered the field of vascular ultrasound in 2002. She has worked in a hospital setting for most of her career. Certifications include registered radiologic technologist and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer; she is currently a member of The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Nick Argeroudis

– Business Manager

Nick has over 30 years of marketing and management experience, he has been in the medical field since 2000, most recently as a senior level hospital administrator. He is certified in operating room protocol and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
